Columbus Regional Healthcare System recently awarded four, $1,000 scholarships to HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) students who are planning a career in the health care industry. Each student completed a second level Health Occupation Class at their High School. This year’s recipients, Jamie Powell (Whiteville High School), Katie Evans (South Columbus High School), Dana Williamson (West Columbus High School) and Elexsys Junious (East Columbus High School) were honored at a luncheon at CRHS.
“We are honored to offer these scholarships to these four outstanding students” commented Terrie Priest, Vice President of Business Development and Community Relations. “We understand the importance of promoting health careers and supporting education. We know these students will be successful healthcare providers and perhaps one day return home to work in our community.”
Dana Williamson is the daughter of Danny Williamson and Vickie Nance. She will be attending Southeastern Community College.
Jamie Powell is the daughter of Jim and Elizabeth Powell. She will be attending Southeastern Community College. Elexsys Junious is the daughter of John and LaShanta Junious. She will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Katie Evans is the daughter of Tim Evans. She will be attending Brunswick Community College.
Columbus Regional Healthcare System has offered these scholarships since 1997. The scholarships are funded by the CRHS Foundation, the CRHS Auxiliary and Columbus Regional Healthcare System. Pictured Left to right – Dana Williamson, Jamie Powell, Elexsys Junious and Katie Evans.
