Columbus Regional Healthcare System and Network are taking all the precautions to ensure you receive COVID-safe care.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

At Columbus Regional, we are driven by our mission to provide compassionate care, advance healing and inspire hope for our patients and their loved ones.  We understand that by creating an environment where differences are valued, and inclusion is a way of life we can provide excellent service for our community.

Every Patient Matters

All patients have unique health concerns, and we have the resources to help meet your needs in a culturally competent way. In every encounter with every patient, our staff and providers aim to provide a positive experience that ensures patient safety, quality care and excellent customer service.

Advancing health equity

As leaders in advancing equity of care for all, we’re proud to take part in the Equity of Care Pledge, a national campaign to eliminate healthcare disparities. The campaign asks hospital and healthcare system leaders to commit to acting on 4 specific areas that can improve health equity:

  1. Increase the collection and use of race, ethnicity and language preference data
  2. Increase cultural competency training
  3. Increase diversity in leadership and governance
  4. Improve and strengthen community partnerships

Data collection and use

We transformed how we collect and use race, ethnicity, language preference data, and sexual orientation and gender identity data. As an organization we understand that Social Determinants of Health impact the well-being of people within our communities. Collecting data allows us to identify disparities in health care, access and outcomes.

Cultural competency training

Our organizational task force works to develop cultural competence education initiatives tailored to the following job groups:

  • Physicians and APPs
  • RNs
  • Other Clinical Professionals
  • Non-Clinical, Patient-Facing Teammates

Community partnerships

Through our partnerships with local organizations, we’re working to make a bigger impact on our community’s well-being.

Providing spiritual care

We recognize and support the emotional and spiritual aspects of healing for patients and families of all faiths.

Chaplains are on call 24 hours a day for all patients and families, and interfaith worship services are offered regularly in our Hospital Chapel. The Chapel is also open for private prayer and meditation.

Breaking language barriers

Good communication is essential to high-quality, compassionate healthcare. Our language line is available 24/7 and  help bridge communication gaps between patients and providers, and lower barriers to getting excellent care through language services.
