Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) is proud to serve as a teaching site for the next generation of physicians through our partnership with Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Each year, third-year medical students from Campbell join the CRHS team to complete a portion of their clinical training under the guidance of our dedicated and experienced Medical Staff. While we currently have 11 students on site this year, we look forward to welcoming a new group annually. This ongoing partnership means you’ll see medical students in our hospital and clinics regularly as they learn, grow, and contribute to patient care.

“We are excited to partner with a program, which has a strong focus on training physicians to serve in rural and underserved communities,” said CRHS CEO Jason Beck.

The program is led by Dr. Peter Chambers, Emergency Department physician and CRHS Director of Student Medical Education, with program coordination by Shauna Treadaway. Together, they ensure that students gain valuable hands-on experience while maintaining the high quality of care our community expects.

As you visit our hospital, you may notice some new faces in the halls. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to these future physicians as they become part of our community. Their presence reflects our commitment to advancing healthcare locally and ensuring a strong future workforce of physicians dedicated to rural and underserved populations.
