CRHS offers multiple Virtual Neurology Services (TeleStroke).
With telestroke medicine, doctors who have advanced training in the nervous system (neurologists) remotely evaluate people who've had acute strokes and make diagnoses and treatment recommendations to emergency medicine doctors, like at CRHS ED. Doctors communicate using digital video cameras, Internet telecommunications, smartphones, tablets and other technology
A Code Stroke activation is used for patients with Stroke-like symptoms.
A Teleneuro - STAT consults is a scheduled consult with the Neurologist that will have an expected response time of 10-30 minutes of the initial call to the Telespecialist Navigator.
A Teleneuro rounding consult is a daily rounding consult with the Neurologist.
Columbus Regional hosts a monthly Stoke Survivor and Caregiver Support Group. The group is aimed at Stroke survivors and caregivers of all ages. Stroke education will be provided along with an opportunity to mingle and socialize with other survivors and/or caregivers. The meeting date and time will be the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 2pm to 3pm at 609 Pecan Lane, Whiteville, NC.
